Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder – Medium Deep Review

When I visited the U.K, I hopped off the plane on a mission to get my hands on this product. If you’ve watched beauty guru Jackie Aina‘s review on this newly launched Laura Mercier translucent setting powder. You will understand why shopping was first on my agenda as soon as I left the airport #JackieAinaMadeMeDoIt. I’ve mentioned before that we do not have much variety in terms of makeup products and brands in South Africa. Let’s just say it is easier to buy makeup when traveling in order to cut down on delivery costs but most importantly to be able to test and review products when they are fresh out of the factory. Packaging:

The Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder packaging is a simple and classy, as you can see from the pictures. The product is in a clear container with a grey lid, the box is grey with sophisticated branding.

This is what I found the product to be;

It is not all translucent but instead has a higher pigment than the ordinary translucent powder therefore less ashy on dark skin such as mine.

It has toasty, warm and dark undertone so my yellow-bones beware of this.

It is very skin tone dependent girls and boys. I found that it was close to my skin colour. This would make a perfect wear for a less distinguished well blended highlighter. It’s warm undertone it is great for daytime coverage and nighttime coverage too because there is no flashback.

I love the smooth finish it has, it looks flawless.

At first I wasn’t too comfortable piling it on as the day progresses because I anticipated creasing and build-up especially around my eyes- girl it is bomb.

I know that transfer is bound to happen with makeup but I found that the Laura Mecier Setting powder the transfer is higher than usual; I was at a wedding in the England and was the only black person there and let me just say everyone that I cheek- air kissed hello was with Laura Mercier too. Even just lightly touching my face after dancing I noticed it was all over my fingers. Also this is after priming and setting I just felt like the transfer was more than usual.

I would have loved it if it also came with one of those flat sponges to tap it into my skin, you will have to buy one yourself.

In conclusion; my name is Ghislaine Mutombo and I do love me the LauraMercier Translucent Setting Powder – Medium Deep Review
